When going through the Halloween season, I realized through the chaos that I didn’t do as much creatively that I’d wanted to do. So I set out to make up for it during the holiday season by setting out to make a creative twist to Christmas. Going through ideas in my head and looking for some kind of inspirational search, I was getting a few interesting ideas and then I mentioned it to someone and she came up with Krampus. At first I was thinking about it and was contemplating on wether or not we should put something together outdoors or do something indoors. Normally, I would aim for outdoors to add the snow, trees and maybe even some of the neighborhood to add an element from the the movie or as if she’s on the hunt for the naughty ones to take...... but there’s no snow right now and I wanted to try some studio work.
While my hair and makeup artist Angel was transforming Tatem into Lady Krampus, I set up the backdrop, Lights, got my camera ready. I was also getting ideas and mentally plotting different poses that could be used later in editing to create something fun and creative. Tatem got into position against the backdrop and after making some quick adjustments to the lighting and my exposure settings, we started taking the first set of images. I would show her images off of the back of the camera and our excitement grew with our constant results. As we were getting more of the set done with different poses, we were trying to squeeze more ideas into the set before we wrapped it up. After reviewing some of the images later on, I pieced together one of the first images and simply put, the excitement was untamable from our results!
